- February 18, 1745 – The city of Surakarta, Central Java is founded on the banks of Bengawan Solo River, and becomes the capital of the Kingdom of Surakarta.
- May 11, 1745 – War of Austrian Succession: Battle of Fontenoy – French forces defeat an Anglo-Dutch-Hanoverian army.
- June 16, 1745 – British troops take Cape Breton Island, which is now part of Nova Scotia, Canada.
